What is iPod Nano

The iPod nano is a portable media player developed, produced and marketed by Apple inc. Now in its fourth generation, the Apple iPod nano has become the de facto leader of the mid-range high quality music player with a host of other features that not only enhance its usability, but also perk up the music listening experience by providing support to photos, videos and lyrics of the music and others. By design, it is pleasing and curvy, feeling really light and nice at 3.6 x 1.5 x 0.24 in and 1.3 oz. It contains an accelerometer (gravity detector), thus allowing the use of “shake to shuffle” or “tilt for next” play. The screen itself is large and has a native resolution of 240×320 pixels at 204 pixels per inch.

Since the days of the original iPod launch, these players are known to be the leaders of clear sound, and clearer organisation. The iPod nano is no different, as the aluminium and glass design of the player feels both comfortable and sturdy as it plays back music and audiobooks that are perfect in clarity and quotation. The iPod nano holds a flash drive of either 4GB or 8GB capacity. As there are no moving parts, the player works very well for a long time, featuring an ideal 24 hour audio playback and 4 hour video playback.

It also has the additional ability of playing games such as the iPod Music Quiz, Maze and other such entertainment facilities that add on to the rich music experience on the iPod. The clickwheel of the Apple iPods finds its way to the iPod nano, which is a touch sensitive round that has the four basic keys of music play – next, previous, menu, and play/pause, with a centre button for selection.

The new 4th generation model also has the coverflow feature that allows the user to see and select the album to be seen in a beautiful and elegant ‘flow’ landscape view. The glassy User Interface of the iPod, with throwbacks to the Mac OS UI, looks beautiful in this view, and the distinct menus and playing options look stylish and flaunt worthy.

Made with arsenic-free glass, and no Mercury, Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) and Brominated Flame Retardant (BFR) material, this is additionally claimed to be the most environmentally safe iPod by Apple.

As a music player that is tiny and as clear as anything, along with a voice recording and playback feature not found in other iPods.
