Many wordpress users are complaining that with the update to the WordPress CMS to version 3, they are not able to get access to the new feature which allows you to create Short URL. This seems to be a option which is not directly enabled for everyone and for this you need to implement the following.
Next if this option is missing, you need to make sure that you are connected to the internet because following this the WordPress CMS would create a shorturl once a draft is saved. Before this the Get Shortlink button wont be displayed. Once drafted or published you will find a button next to the Edit button on which if you click you will get a dialog box with the URL which you can copy and share.
